Instagram Announced New Tools to Help Creators Start Their Own IGTV Series: Now that Instagram supports video series content on its long-form IGTV format, Instagram rolled out a new tool that enables creators to start their own series.

In addition, creators using the IGTV series tool can give fans the option to turn on notifications that alert them when new episodes are available for viewing.

Instagram Stories Reportedly Developing Invites Sticker for Events: Instagram is reportedly testing a new Stories sticker option that is aimed at facilitating event participation. Instagram’s Event Story stickers, spotted by reverse engineer, Jane Manchun Wong, appear to allow users “to add details of your upcoming event – including title, date, and location” and directly RSVP within the Story.

Instagram Tests New Following List Categories to Manage Content Feeds: In addition to Invite Stickers for Events, Instagram also appears to be testing a new process for categorizing your “Following” list into both topic categories or based on individual engagement activity. The idea is to help users better manage what content appears in their main feed.

Instagram Publishes New Creative Tips for Stories: Instagram published a new set of Stories tips, covering a range of “creative tips to share playful and interactive stories” and highlights standout visual effects and additions.

Facebook Unveils New Corporate Branding: This past week, Facebook updated its company logo “to be clearer about the products that come from Facebook.” The company notes that the new company logo is “designed for clarity… [and] uses custom typography and capitalization to create a visual distinction between the company and app”

The new logo will further distinguish the Facebook company from the Facebook app, which will keep its own branding logo.

When I started Facebook 15 years ago, I had no idea it would eventually include Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, Workplace and more. Many people don’t know we build these products or that our teams often work together. But we believe people should, because it’s important for people to know who’s behind the products they use.

Today we’re introducing a new company logo to be clearer about the apps and technologies that come from Facebook. Here’s what it’ll look like when you start seeing it across our products.
